An Aquino weds in a misty chapel

THE COUPLE with President Noynoy Aquino

What can be more romantic than saying your “I do’s” in a chapel on a hill shrouded in mist?

BAM and Timi share a laugh during Fr. Adolfo Dacanay’s homily.

The bridegroom professing his love, commitment and devotion to his blushing bride through a poem (in Filipino at that) he penned himself!

Thus did “Bam” Aquino, former Youth Commissioner and founder of Happinoy, a cooperative for small-medium investors and businesses, pledge his troth to Timi Gomez, from the corporate world of Unilever.

MR. AND MRS. Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino

Her gown was sheer callado and embroidered piña in a modern mestiza style by Veluz Reyes, and he was dashing in a formal barong Tagalog as was his special guest, first cousin President Noy. Their parents, Paul and Melanie Aquino and Vince and Carrie Gomez, were happy that the lovebirds, who had a seven-year courtship, were now officially a couple!

After the church rites, a reception for the small group of family members, relatives and close friends was held at the nearby Splendido Country Club in Alfonso, Batangas. A few days later, Bam and Timi celebrated with his constituents in his ancestral home in Concepcion, Tarlac, where Timi got her first taste of being a senatorial candidate’s wife.

In lieu of gifts, Bam and Timi asked guests to donate instead to any of their advocacies—Happinoy program and Microventures Foundation. Clearly, they share the same social values!
