Sparkling addition to watch fashion

LUCERNE managing director Emerson Yao and Swarovski head of emerging markets in Southeast Asia Chris Neff

Premier global brand Swarovski presented the Swarovski Watch Collection 2012 at the upscale Salon de Ning of Peninsula Hotel.

Welcoming the guests were debonaire Chris Neff, Swarovski head of emerging markets in Southeast Asia, who had jetted in from Singapore. He was joined in the reception line by brothers  Emerson and Ivan Yao, hotshot managing directors of Lucerne, exclusive distributor of Swarovski watches in the Philippines, no less.

Gorgeous models Vanessa Matsunaga and Fernanda Cordero showed off the fashionable Swarovski watches. Beth Mancilla, Swarovski’s watches brand manager, introduced the three lines to guests: Octea Elis, Octea Chrono and Octea Sport.

Moi was completely dazzled by the watch’s 16 playful zirconian crystals, combined with stainless steel or calfskin leather bracelets.

Believe moi, it’s the perfect watch to wear during the coming holiday season which is just a couple of eyelash-battings away, palanggas.

Pink Peninsula

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so Manila Peninsula Manila held “Enriching Your Life,” a program in which a percentage of the sales of the hotel would go to breast cancer organizations.

For the fifth year running, the hotel promoted cancer awareness: Its grand fountain at the junction of Ayala and Makati Avenues becomes a pink landmark starting at 6 p.m.

An auction was held recently at Salon de Ning to raise funds for the Philippine Foundation for Breast Care Inc. Awesome bids were accepted for overnight stay at the Peninsula Suite; a Methuselah or six-liter bottle of Möet & Chandon; jewelry from Jul Dizon and P10,000 gift card from Itsie Bitsie Boutique.

Naturellement, Möet & Chandon Rosé Champagne pink-themed canapés were served.

The party’s pink theme extends all over the hotel, with gorgeous pink flowers and candles scattered at the lobby and restaurants. Specially designed ribbons are worn by the hotel staff.

In a red-carpet happening, over 100 exclusively chosen invitees celebrated the Philippine opening of world-class Roche Bobois.

The chic cocktail event at Pasong Tamo Extension ushered in the French furniture house’s first-ever showroom in Southeast Asia.

Hotshot architects and  interior designers mingled with other VIP guests in the eye-catching furniture showroom, where Roche Bobois, with its 50-year heritage, proudly presented two of its latest collections: Les Contemporains and Nouveaux Classiques.

Roche Bobois Manille’s managing directors are the Lorenzana brothers George and Eugene. They took us through Roche Bobois’ “haute couture,” each piece featuring ultra-luxurious fabrics and au courant designs which, take note, palanggas, are all handmade.

But what caught my eagle eye was the wow Mah Jong sofa covered in Missoni Home fabrics. Just divine, dahlings.

“Roche Bobois, a global leader in high-end furniture design and distribution, is a dynamic company in development, and has been producing fine furniture for 50 years, offering exclusive ‘haute couture’ designs for two main collections: Les Contemporains and Nouveaux Classiques,” said Roche Bobois’ director of international development Martin  Gleize. “Both collections are renewed twice a year, and now we have teamed up with fashion icons like Kenzo, Missoni, Ungaro, Jean Paul Gaultier, and this year, Sonia Rykiel.”

Everything was totally dripping in decadence, palanggas, down to the fries with truffle oil and caviar. Now, if that ain’t posh, what is, dahlings, di bala?
