As a way of helping frontliners carry out their duties, the Department of Transportation announced that they will be waiving toll fees for medical staff with private cars. San Miguel Corporation (SMC) and Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation, the parent companies of the expressways in Luzon, will be providing free passes.
Medical workers passing through SMC-operated expressways can get their passes from Shell Magallanes and the NAIA-X toll gate from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. The expressways covered by this pass are the Southern Tagalog Arterial Road (STAR Tollway), South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), Skyway, Ninoy Aquino International Airport Expressway (NAIA-X) and Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEx).
