LOOK: Netizens share photos and concerns over Jazz Residences wall collapse

A portion of the SM Jazz condominium collapsed this morning (Apr. 30) in Makati City. According to an initial report by SMDC, an outer slab of the parking level’s facade wall of the SM Jazz Mall building along Nicanor Garcia Street in Makati collapsed onto the building.

A resident of the condominium also said that the slab came off the fifth floor of the building, where generator sets and air-conditioning units are located.

While no deaths were recorded, two individuals have reportedly been taken to the hospital after parts of some cars from the parking lot landed on them.

SMDC has since released a statement saying:

The statement confirms the incident but reassures the public that no one was seriously injured. However, according to Makati Deputy Chief of Police Gideon Ines, 300 people may be affected by the collapsed area as it affected Tower D of the condominium and debris from the building also fell near the entrance of its supermarket.

Thereafter, residents were quickly directed to stay away from the wreckage.
