From sartorial maven to one of the known fashion bloggers in Manila, Tin Iglesias has come full circle. Fashion blogging helped her understand the needs of the modern Filipina, proving that she has what it takes to become a young emerging designer in the Philippine fashion industry.

“I am fascinated by the unique wonders of this world and what lies beyond it,” said Iglesias when asked about the inspiration of her graduation collection.

She is indeed inspired by vast space, and focused on the lunar eclipse. The collection was a bit of a cosmic visual feast, making you imagine the outer space.

Galaxy prints and cosmic patterns are part of the fashionistas’ looks for the year, which makes Iglesias’ designs accessible. With the democratization of fashion, blogging has indeed  become a profession, but Iglesias didn’t confine herself to this to pursue her passion for fashion. She took the high road and studied Clothing Technology at the University of the Philippines, and is graduating in 2013.

She added a futuristic dimension to the typical grunge-glam looks. She made the galaxy theme a viable option for the rock ‘n’ roll look with a black sheer-panel swimsuit, metallic-panel leggings, a leather top with orange velvet panel matched with a metallic peplum skirt, and the military sports-inspired jacket were outstanding pieces that a typical Filipina might try, taking her style up a notch.

Veering away from her focal point, Iglesias is making a statement that she can handle leather with her angular black leather skirt.

The angular skirt is one-of-a-kind, and can be mixed with different looks. It’s a smart move for her to mix different types of fabric to show how she can  manage more complex designs in the near future.
