Allergan Healthcare, the global multi-specialty healthcare company, honored Dr. Vicki Belo as founder of the Belo Medical Group, which it had named the Philippines’ top cosmetic surgery and dermatology services clinic, dahlings.

Held at the Makati Shangri-La, the affair doubled as a celebration for the 10th global anniversary of Botulinum Toxin Type A, better known as Botox, the popular cosmetic treatment.

Botox is actually Allergan’s registered trademark and an approved botulinum toxin used for both therapeutic and cosmetic purposes. I must say, palangga, Botox has done wonders for moi.

Highlight was Allergan presenting a platinum award to Doc Vicki for getting women and men happily satisfied with their newfound look through Botox.

Allergan cited Doc Vicki’s Belo Medical Group for its “extensive experience with Botox treatment for 10 consecutive years and its constant dedication to empower Filipinos through innovative, effective and world-class medical procedures.”

Après, Doc Vicki thanked Allergan. “We have always been committed to making a difference in the lives of Filipinos by bringing out the beauty in each and everyone of them,” she said. “Allergan Healthcare Philippines has made it possible to carry out this commitment. In behalf of the entire Belo Medical Group, I would like to thank Allergan Healthcare Philippines for the 10 wonderful years of partnership and beyond.”

Congratulating her were  Dyan Castillejo of “Sports Unlimited,” well-mannered Edward Mendez, Jason Sabio and, yes, even Hayden Kho. (And why not, he’s been a part of her life, too, n’est ces pas?)

Sharing the limelight with Doc Vicki was daughter Cristalle Henares, no less; she’s the managing director of Intelligent Skin Care Inc., maker of Belo Essentials Whitening Products.

The affair was emceed by Steve Patrick, with performances from the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, Ballet Philippines and singer Zia Quizon, palangga.

Moi noticed that more and more mature women have started to believe in miracles, because Doc Vicki Belo does make miracles, palangga.

Paper chase

A person’s breeding and status can easily be gleaned from her “thank you” note or short letter written on crisp stationery, like the chic Papillo Fine stationery.

Now we have a new kid on the block who is totally making waves, it’s the Papillo stationery, bringing back the lost art of handwritten letters, just perfect for the holiday season, dahlings.

A trunk show was held at the Essensa function room of Cameron Tower in Fort Bonifacio, showcasing Papillo’s  awesome collection.

“Papillo aims to bring back the seemingly lost art of handwritten letters,” said Trisha Panlilio, owner and founder. “In this age of e-mails and text messages, writing a letter by hand makes the gesture more meaningful and personal because of the time and effort spent in doing it.”

Papillo has an extensive selection of personalized stationery for all occasions. Whether in premium textured paper or employing traditional printing, Papillo offers fresh and exciting ways to put sentiments on paper, palanggas.

Papillo followers are A-listers such as Celine Gabriel-Lim, Jerika Ejercito Lopez, Pat Sy and Sambie Que Rodriguez.

Separated but happy

Tongues are wagging about this gorgeous high-profile couple that have decided to move on with their lives.

The stunningly chic head-turner has found her niche in her newfound career. He moved out of his high-rise condo and was constantly seen with another eye-catching lady with a successful career.

That did not end there, palangga. Suddenly, he separated from his steady and is now with his new off, on and off—or is it on again?—romance: a young woman of stature, substance and style, who in turn had also left recently her steady.

So, how’s the life of the ex-wife in the romance department now? Is there a new man? Ah, this is where my lips are completely sealed, dahlings.

Changed women

For my yearend awards in the makeover department, moi have chosen three women of stature and substance.

Stunning Maricris Cardenas Zobel had always kept her thick hair femininely long, with little bright highlights of a different shade than her own.

ZIA QUIZON and mom Zsa Zsa Padilla

But one day, there she was at the Maroon 5 concert, with superbly cut layered short hair, and in a darker shade. Moi had to do a double take and was extremely delighted with what I saw. When I asked her why she suddenly cut off her gorgeous hair, she said, “It’s time for a change.”

Bag designer Rocio Olbes is another eye-catching beauty who always had her hair in a lighter shade. But at the Elton John concert, she was with a totally new look. She dyed her hair from blond to extreme black, wow!

And, naturellement, there’s stylish Mandy de la Rama Santos, who always had her hair long, which she wore loose or in a ponytail but with class!

At present she’s making waves in her new TV career and making men drool over her new hairstyle—short and sometimes flattened with mousse, which has brought out her chiseled good looks.

There you have it, palangga. What will be your big change for the New Year?
