Attention, kids and seniors: Gov’t amends MGCQ resolution, says stay home

The government has revised its modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) protocols to prohibit the elderly, children, pregnant women and persons with health conditions from leaving their homes.

According to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, the aforementioned can only leave for work or essential activities.

“Mananatiling hindi po dapat lumabas sa mga bahay ang mga bata, 21 years old and below at ang ating mga seniors, 60 years old and above subject po doon sa exception na kung kinakailangan for necessities and para magtrabaho,” Roque said.

The previous guidelines said that every household member can leave their homes under MGCQ. Roque said in a public briefing yesterday, Jun. 4, that this was amended under Resolution No. 43.

This resolution came four days after the implementation of the MGCQ, wherein non-essential work gatherings are allowed as long as a 50 percent limit on venue capacity is observed.

All areas in the country are under MCGQ starting Jun. 1 except for Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Pangasinan, Albay, Western Visayas, Cebu City, Mandaue City, and Davao City which are under general community quarantine.
