DANNY Pangan and his renderings of Barasoain Church

Artist Danny Pangan is marking 30 years of art-making.

A proponent of tri-dimensional painting, Pangan is well-known for his paintings of ancestral houses, ancient churches, colonial buildings.

He’s famous for his renderings of Barasoain Church in Malolos, Bulacan.

It is at Barasoain Church where Pangan held his anniversary party, Danny Pangan: Pasasalamat Para sa 30 Taon, last Dec. 28. Friends, kin and collectors had a Mass at 5 p.m. before the thanksgiving banquet.

“I am thankful to God I have come this far,” Pangan said.

He said he was happy he had executed intricate paintings of church façades juxtaposed with the sky and greenery.

He has also exhibited in New York, Los Angeles, San Diego, Hong Kong, Indonesia and the Middle East. His paintings had even been used as commemorative stamps for the Philippine Postal Corp.

A resident of Bulacan, Danny heads the local Lakan Sining art group. He is also a member of the Saturday Group of artists.

He’s the art consultant of Minasa Festival in Bustos, Bulacan.

Pangan said he’s happy to have organized sports activities, especially basketball tournaments, for visual artists. “I believe that we in the art circle must be physically fit in all our endeavors,” he said.

Pangan disclosed he is holding his 30th anniversary one-man showcase, “Old Presidential Houses,” in the first quarter of 2013.
