Since the lockdown began, more and more people have been making efforts to help local farmers by buying produce from them through farmers’ markets in malls or Viber groups, or through farm-to-table groups that help farmers deliver their produce to more consumers around the country.

Fortunately, there are so many more ways for people to help support our agricultural sector. Here are nine farmer-owned and farm-to-table businesses you can check out if you want to help out:

Run by a group of young farmers from Benguet, Igorot Fresh Produce allows customers to order salad, pasta and smoothie packs priced at a maximum of P270 per pack. They also sell strawberries, Benguet coffee beans and other fresh produce from the highlands.

Located in Dahilayan, Bukidnon, Down to Earth is a family farm that raises free-range poultry and sources grass-fed cattle. They also sell edible flowers and herbs at an average price of P220-P300 per pack.

 

Bangon Benguet

Bangon Benguet is a farm-to-table initiative managed by the Department of Agriculture. With the help of Victory Liners, Inc., the initiative has delivered vegetables like Baguio beans, broccoli, cabbage and kamote from Benguet farmers to consumers in Manila.
