Instituto Cervantes to hold forum, film showing on European crisis

Instituto Cervantes presents “¿hay Salida? Is There a Way Out?: The Global Economy Today,” a forum which brings to light the current situation of the European and Spanish fiscal crisis, on Jan. 22, 6 p.m., in the Salón de Actos of Instituto Cervantes.

 

Participating are Spanish economists Juan L. Gómez and Luis Cañete. The forum will be moderated by the Economic and Commercial Counsellor of Spain in the Philippines, Enrique Feás.

 

The forum will kick off with a screening of the 2006 Carlos Iglesias’ film “Un Franco, 14 Pesetas,” a film about two Spaniards in the 1960s who leave their lives and families in Spain to emigrate to Switzerland in search for a better livelihood.

 

Forum will fully be conducted in Spanish. Free admission on a first-come, first-served basis.
