Making plans for the holidays? Looks like all of your celebrations will be virtual for now, as Christmas parties are prohibited for areas under GCQ.
In a press briefing aired last night, Interior Secretary Eduardo Año announced that Metro Manila’s mayors have agreed to place the region under general community quarantine (GCQ) until the end of 2020—meaning mass gatherings will still be prohibited.
Año, however, noted that churches will be allowed to open at 30 percent capacity as the holiday season approaches. “Pati iyong pagsisimba nagkasundo rin sila na payagan ang 30 percent na makapagsimba dahil sa nalalapit na rin na Pasko pero bawal po ang Christmas party,” he stressed.
Additionally, he added that curfew hours and age range for people allowed to go out has been adjusted. From 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., curfew hours are now 12 a.m. to 4 a.m.. People aged 18 years old to 65 years old will now be allowed to go out for areas under GCQ.
