This DIY co-baking studio is a pastry-making beginner’s dream

We believe that everyone can bake, but having access to materials like tools and ingredients might be a major hassle for some. Not only can some items be pricey, but they may also be difficult to find for first-time bakers.

But worry not, because if you want to test your skills in making cakes and pastries without shelling out an entire month’s worth of salary for an oven or cupcake ingredients, there’s a do-it-yourself co-baking space in Metro Manila that opened just this weekend.

Located at SM Aura Premier in Taguig, Bakebe PH ticks off everything on your baking must-have list—from a spacious working station to a wide selection of ingredients, tools and baking equipment. To make the baking atmosphere even more pleasant, the entire establishment is decorated with dainty pastel pink walls, furniture and appliances.

All guests will be given an iPad containing the Bakebe app, which comes with detailed instructions, graphics, videos and a step-by-step guide that will help you complete your chosen do-it-yourself baking project. But in case you’d need assistance, the co-baking space has attendants on standby to guide you as well.

Some of the cake baking projects include the vegan Cotton Love cake, a chocolate and soy-blended treat filled with chestnut paste. If you’re looking for something extra challenging to make, you can try the fancy Mermaid Atlantis Gem, a passion fruit cake topped with lychee cream. Prices of these cake projects range from P1,999 to P2,499.

Other pastries you can make in Bakebe’s kitchen are cupcakes (P1,199 to P1,499), macarons (P1,999 for 12 pieces) and cookies (P999).

While walk-in customers are still welcome, Bakebe highly advises booking your visit in advance due to its 50 percent maximum operating capacity. At the moment, only customers aged 18 to 65 years old are allowed due to pandemic restrictions. All guests are required to wear face masks and face shields while inside the establishment and to fill up a health declaration and contact tracing form upon arrival. Bakebe will also provide disposable gloves to be worn by guests at all times.

Book a session via Bakebe’s website here. For further inquiries, reach out to them online via email, Facebook or Instagram or call its hotlines at 0936-9579045, 0919-4551841 or 8459-0214. Bakebe is open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
