LONDON – A Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen called Jilly on Sunday won the Best in Show award at Britain’s Crufts festival, the world’s largest annual dog show.

Jilly, from Oxfordshire, south England, was crowned champion ahead of more than 20,000 other dogs at the NEC arena in Birmingham, central England.

“She is just so busy, so naughty, she’s such a character, a once in a lifetime dog,” said owner Gavin Robertson.

Organizers The Kennel Club describes the breed as a “well balanced, short legged, rough coated, compact hound”.

A Labrador Retriever named Romeo finished second.

The show celebrates its 122nd anniversary this year.
