Kultura Filipino teams up with World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF-Philippines) through “Care, Conserve, and Contribute”—an exclusive line of shirts and bags to help protect the environment, coinciding with two major environmental celebrations: Earth Hour tomorrow, 8:30-9:30 p.m., and Earth Day on April 22.
Exclusively designed for Kultura Filipino, the items range from trendy graphic shirts to statement tees made of 100-percent organic cotton, as well as stylish canvas eco bags.
They also bear the logo of WWF’s iconic Giant Panda mascot, which was inspired by the panda Chi Chi that was transferred from the Beijing Zoo to the London Zoo in 1961, the year WWF was established.
Part of the proceeds from merchandise sales will go to WWF to help fund its marine, forest and water conservation, climate change solutions, and environmental education projects in the Philippines—including watershed management programs in Ilagan, Isabela; sustainable development and coastal rehabilitation programs at Hamilo Coast, Batangas; coastal resource management programs in Apo and Tubbataha Reefs; community-based whale shark eco-tourism programs in Sorsogon; as well as turtle and coastal resource management programs in Tawi-Tawi.
Climate change adaptation programs in Samal Island in Davao are also beneficiaries.
For the past 50 years, WWF has been protecting the future of nature. As the world’s leading conservation organization, WWF works in 100 countries and is supported by close to five million people globally.
WWF’s work combines global reach with a foundation in science and involves action at every level—from local to global, and ensures the delivery of innovative solutions that meet the needs of both people and nature.
The “Care, Conserve, and Contribute with the WWF” collection is available at Kultura Filipino SM Store in Makati.
