The rollout will be done in two phases, prioritizing those from NCR+8 (National Capital Region, Bulacan, Cavite, Rizal, Laguna, Pampanga, Batangas, Metro Cebu, and Metro Davao).

Estimates from the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) show that there are about 35.5 million beneficiaries under the A4 priority group. Of this number, 13 million are in NCR Plus 8.

A ceremony for the “symbolic rollout” of COVID-19 vaccines for essential workers under the A4 priority group is being held today, June 7 at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay. Some 50 individuals from the tourism, transportation, mass media, food service, and business process outsourcing (BPO) industries and sectors will be inoculated on site.

Vaccinating essential workers, according to the government, will boost economic activity.
