We were among many Filipinos who recently trooped to our favorite Uniqlo branch to buy Jollibee shirts. We were also excited about Uniqlo’s partnership with San Miguel being launched today. And there’s another collaboration to be revealed later this year.

These tie-ups have sent us dreaming. Here are more Uniqlo collaborations with Filipino brands that we’d love to see, imagined by Inquirer artists Steph Bravo and Albert Rodriguez.

Batibot

If American kids can have Sesame Street shirts, surely we can have some featuring our “Batibot” favorites Pong Pagong and Kiko Matsing? We’d totally rock a Manang Bola shirt, too.

Goldilocks

Maybe, just maybe, next time we travel, we’ll be hand-carrying Goldilocks X Uniqlo shirts instead of polvoron and mamon for our loved ones. Or, fine, we’ll bring them all. An egg pie tee would be awesome, too.

Flat Tops

Seriously, who doesn’t love Flat Tops? These rich chocolate pieces are not only delicious, they also bring back great childhood memories.

ChocNut

ChocNut is one of the country’s great unifiers. It doesn’t matter who you are and where you’re from; chances are, you’ve enjoyed at least a handful of ChocNuts in your lifetime. And isn’t that what Uniqlo wants—products that democratize?

National Book Store

We’re all “Laking National.” We’ve spent blissful hours exploring National Book Store’s aisles, looking for that next great read or filling a cart with school supplies. We’d love to have a Uniqlo shirt that would remind us of those special moments, preferably one featuring National’s classic red stripes.

Chocolait

As children, we drank so much Chocolait that we’re pretty sure we had it running through our veins. We would totally buy a shirt featuring our favorite chocolate drink in that heavy Magnolia bottle brought to our house by our friendly milk man.

Chippy

Life can bring all kinds of crazy changes, so it’s refreshing when something stays the same throughout the years. Chippy, the classic red Chippy, is one of those things—salty, crunchy and comfortingly familiar. We’d proudly wear a bag of Chippy on our chest.

Mang Tomas

We think of it as Pinoy gravy. Mang Tomas sauce is capable of making everything taste even more delicious—lechon, lechon kawali, fried seafood and, according to some weird friends, sinigang. Yeah, we think Mang Tomas deserves his own Uniqlo shirt, too.
