For kids who grew up watching the show, “Batibot” was the absolute Saturday morning treat they’d look forward to, a much-awaited favorite they’d miss on school days. I remember arguing with my cousins who preferred watching Saturday morning cartoons, and bawling when our grandfather would switch the channel to the news just to end the discussion.
This was the concept behind the first Inquirer Read-Along session this year, which featured the comeback of “Batibot”—the Filipino version of the long-running American children’s television series “Sesame Street”—not on TV but on tablets and smartphones.
We were among many Filipinos who recently trooped to our favorite Uniqlo branch to buy Jollibee shirts. We were also excited about Uniqlo’s partnership with San Miguel being launched today.
