Aside from kimchi, the spicy fermented cabbage leaves, another well-loved Korean side dish is seasoned spinach. This cold dish goes well with Korean dishes such as bibimbap, kalbijim and bulgogi.
The Hallyu wave has not only made us swoon for K-pop stars and go gaga for K-drama, it also made us crave Korean cuisine and all the other good eats we see onscreen.
The very first Korean restaurant I can remember appreciating was one located in the Makati Avenue area. I would frequent that place despite knowing that I would leave the place smelling of smoke from the grilled dishes they cooked in front of you.
