For the first time since its inception in 2009, Face-Off eschewed established names in favor of budding talents from Slim’s Fashion and Arts School, SoFA Design Institute, De La Salle-College of St. Benilde (CSB) and Fashion Institute of the Philippines (FIP) in an afternoon fashion show titled “Face-Off 2016: A Cut Above the Rest.”
No famous names are going head to head in the 2015 edition of Inquirer Lifestyle’s Face-Off, but this year will be no less formidable, as four of the top local fashion and design schools will be showing off the works of their best students—in one venue, together.
Slim’s, SoFA Design Institute, De La Salle-College of St. Benilde and Fashion Institute of the Philippines will present the top collections of their students in a show titled “Face-Off 2016: A Cut Above the Rest” on Nov. 23 at Mega Fashion Hall at SM Megamall.

Every year the Fashion Institute of the Philippines (FIP), together with YKK Philippines, attempts to make the dreams of budding fashion designers come true with their annual graduation fashion show. As in previous years, this year’s show will feature the most creative of the batch.
Francis Libiran says he was 8 years old when he thought of being a fashion designer. But following his parents’ advice, he first studied architecture at University of Santo Tomas.
“I don’t have a style icon because I practice creating my own, since I’m training to be a designer. My style strength is in layering.”
