Many people are curious about Australian cuisine, which is noted for its diversity and unique ingredients. That’s why I rushed to Diamond Hotel upon learning that Australian chef Steve Shrimski was holding a food festival. I had to taste and see what he was cooking.
Chefs United was the latest food festival at the Marco Polo Plaza Hotel. The opening night was presided by general manager Hans Hauri and resident manager Julie Najar. The whole thing was conceptualized by Jessica Avila, culinary guru who serves as the Marco Polo’s consultant for Filipino cuisine, with accent on the Cebuano.
For the third year in a row Spanish Ambassador Jorge Domecq came to preside over the festivities of Dia de Santiago at Casino Español de Cebu. He was welcomed by club president Antonio Veloso Jr. and the rest of the board of directors as well as their family and friends.
Shangri-La Mactan Resort and Spa hosted an elegant five-course dinner to showcase exquisite wines from the Baron Philippe de Rothschild label at its Acqua restaurant. Present on this occasion was José P. Meneses, president and CEO of Titania Wines Cellar, which imports the Rothschild line.
