The Christmas season is the most wonderful and my favorite time of the year. Family, friends and their loved ones gather and share love and laughter to celebrate their accomplishments.

It’s that time of year when we show gratitude to people who have made it awesome.
Today’s Gospel has three general themes represented by parables. The parables of the hidden treasure and the pearl of great price are dramatic portrayals of the total offering of self, once we discover what our mission is.
Happy Valentine’s Day. A few days ago, I sent flowers and wrote a card to one of the loves of my life: “Occasions like Valentine’s Day give us the chance to tell you: Thank you for the Love!”
Soulove is the feeling of oneness, wholeness, completeness and communion with all, and still having the individuality that makes you who you uniquely are. It is about knowing your soul’s identity, purpose and mission.

In April 1993, my late best friend, Leo, invited me to dinner four nights before my ordination. Over drinks, he told me I didn’t look excited about my becoming a priest. I told him I felt very tired.
“What are you thankful for?” was the question at the bottom of an e-mail I had received the day after getting some earth-shaking news. I sat quietly, watching the cursor blink as I blinked away tears.
The other night I was out with a handsome young man. He asked me to be his date at a degustation. Frankly, I have always found the word a little confusing. It sounds like something I won’t enjoy.
Put your attention now on your Higher Self which is the God within you. Fill your mind and heart with love and gratitude, and this feeling will bring to you all the things you will ever need—everything for your highest good and greatest joy.
