What it does every year for its flagship brand Havaianas, the highly successful DIY event “MYOH (Make Your Own Havaianas),” Terry SA just did for French shoes Bensimon, at least for a day.
A pair of city-to-beach shoes, she offers, and maybe you’d hesitate for a bit, but eventually give in, completely convinced. Just like you did when she brought in Havaianas.
It’s that time of year again when people line up like crazy to get their hands on a pair of customized flip-flops. Make Your Own Havaianas (MYOH), now on its eighth year, celebrates this occasion by going back to its roots in Brazil.
Every year, I get lulled into a false sense of security when I attend the “Make Your Own Havaianas” (MYOH) event. I always think, “It’s insanely hot outside. Surely no one will be crazy enough to fall in line in this unforgiving heat,” or “Surely everyone’s had their fill of customized flip-flops.”
We’re not surprised Missoni and Havaianas wanted to collaborate again—after all, their first collection, which was released in 2011, was a huge success.
Only a few of top brands age gracefully, dahlings, which is why après 50 colorful years of flip-flop fashion, Havaianas, is still reigning.
