Sixteen music acts including rock legends, four DJs and three college bands, five participating bars, and loads of beer await the crowd at this year’s San Miguel Beer Oktoberfest, which kicks off Sept. 18 at the SM Mall of Asia (MOA) open grounds in Pasay City.
I THOUGHT these songs from the ’70s and the ’80s that mix Tagalog and English lyrics are worth reproducing, even in an inglisera column. The first, by Gary Granada is, I think, pure poetry.
It may have been some 40 years since the seminal band Hotdog burst on the scene and served up music never before heard over Philippine airwaves, but the power of this group led by brothers Dennis and Rene Garcia to get people on their feet and dancing has hardly diminished.
