By now and pretty much by itself, the Walt Disney Company has made a cottage industry out of the idea of adding modern sensibilities to traditional fairy tales with the release of films like 2010’s “Tangled,” 2007’s “Enchanted,” 2014’s “Maleficent,” and, of course, 2013’s “Frozen”—not to mention the television series “Once Upon a Time,” which puts together several fairy tales in one location.
I am a diehard fan of plays and musicals. I remember lining up at half-off ticket booths in the morning to score the best tickets for shows, and then running from one theater to another all in a day around West End and Broadway.
It was not the typical benefit concert where the usual star-studded cast offered their talents for a worthy cause.
As far as press conferences go, it was pretty epic. Not in its size—it was actually pretty small—but in its hilarity.
