“Shrek The Musical,” which is running at Meralco Theater until Oct. 12, is a solid production. The production values are phenomenal. The props and costumes are well-made, the acting is competent, and the lights, sound and other fiddly bits that many productions this big get wrong or unevenly are done right.
After a “SHREKtacular” opening night in Manila, everyone’s favorite smelly ogre continues to spread joy and cheer in “Shrek the Musical”, a song-and dance-filled stage adaptation of the Oscar-winning DreamWorks animated film. “Shrek the Musical” runs until October 12 at the Meralco Theater.
While on television Nyoy Volante is often seen as quiet and reserved, people close to him would tell you he is, in fact, “loud, funny and silly,” which makes him perfect for the role of Donkey in Atlantis Productions’ staging of “Shrek The Musical.”
