The upcoming Rurouni Kenshin Hokkaido arc will be getting an English release in the same time as the Japanese debut.
The second and last part of the “Rurouni Kenshin” sequel will open this week in the Philippines, and by the time it will have ended its run, it may be safe to say that the samurai movie as a global cinema genre will have been restored. “The Legend Ends” just won’t have its way.

After the runaway success of the first “Rurouni Kenshin” film two years ago, some loyal fans started having mixed feelings about a sequel. Although it left us desperately wanting to see a live-action Shishio arc, there was also this niggling feeling of dread that a follow-up might not be able to measure up to the first movie. Thankfully, our fears were soon laid to rest, and for good reason.
Japanese director Keishi Otomo and actors Takeru Satoh, Emi Takei and Munetaka Aoki graced the Asian premiere in Manila of “Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno.”
Our head was still spinning from the lingering high after the Aug. 6 Manila premiere of “Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno” at SM Megamall. Apparently, the main men behind the movie were in a similar state.
