If you’re a doctor… Yolanda Medical Relief is a Facebook page run by medical groups based in Manila and the United States. They are looking for kind souls to donate medicine and other medical supplies (a comprehensive list is available on their page).
The Filipino people’s resilience was put to the test yet again. Supertyphoon “Yolanda,” the strongest typhoon in history, had a total of six landfalls in the geographic midsection of the Philippines, leaving devastation in its wake.
The Filipino spirit was recently shaken by the catastrophe and devastation brought by “Yolanda”—also known by its international name, “Haiyan”—a supertyphoon that was considered one of the strongest in history.
The worst is over, but the aftermath lingers. Stories of 20-meter-deep water, strong winds and incredible survival flooded the media, as more and more casualties were tallied. Property, land and livelihood were lost, but this was nothing compared to the 10,000 missing, and hundreds of thousands of homeless evacuees.
