The Philippine Tatler group and Solaire Resort and Casino celebrated the ties that bind their honchos during the launch of Tatler’s Best Restaurants Guide (BRG) 2013 at Finestra, the gorgeous Italian restaurant in Solaire.

The BRG, now on its 10th year, is regarded as the most prestigious and comprehensive guide to fine dining in the country.

Tatler management led by Irene Martel Francisco, Anton San Diego, Mia Borromeo, Chit Lijauco and moi welcomed some 200 guests composed of restaurant owners, chefs, gourmets and our town’s old guard as well as new A-listers.

Visa, that most essential card, was represented by its country manager Iain Jamieson and marketing director Agnes Padilla.

San Miguel Brewery VP and national sales manager Debbie Namalata and her team were on hand to offer the much-appreciated San Mig lifestyle brews to the guests.

Solaire’s trés charmant COO Micheal French, VP for operations and GM Adrian Ort, and wonder woman director of communications and public relations Joy Wassmer were the gracious

hosts who oversaw the presentation of divine food that had most of the attendees going back to the buffet tables and the 20 different cheeses including burratta and hot baked brie served with fresh figs, champagne jelly and muscatel grapes.

The sumptuous canapés were foie gras bon bons, salmon with lemon crème and caviar, and my absolute favorite, the porcini mushroom and black truffle risotto.

There were also taleggio and walnut arrancini, foie gras brûlée with sour cherries, plus so much more, dahlings.

The wines served were awesome, like, take note, Bisol Prosecco, Masi Pinot Grigio and Masitoar, plus loads of Italian digestifs and liqueurs like amarone, limoncello and sambuca!

Being in the company of the stunning Vivien Tan with her husband Dudu Vaca; the vivacious southern belle Kaye Santarina and Milan-based Cara Wilson Ferrari, was enough to give me a fab high, palangga.

Francisco, Tatler managing director, gave details of Best Restaurants Charity Week 2013, which starts tomorrow until Aug. 24.

An annual fundraising event, Charity Week invites people to dine in any of the 36 participating restaurants within the period mentioned; a percentage of the bill will go to a chosen beneficiary.

“This year’s beneficiary will be the Down Syndrome Association of the Philippines,” said Francisco, to the applause of the chi-chi crowd.

Along with the great food and scintillating company, the announcement capped the evening perfectly. With the Best Restaurants Charity Week, people will have a chance to contribute to a meaningful cause, dahlings.

Finally, G2000 has landed on our shores, which means moi don’t have to fly to Hong Kong to buy the brand, which is one of my favorites, palanggas.

I’ve always loved G2000’s well-tailored and city-chic designs, so I’m glad it has opened its flagship store in the Philippines on the 4th level of Shangri-La Plaza Mall.

At the launch, guests were inspired to dress for success as they got an exclusive preview of the brand’s latest collection, while being welcomed by G2000 group founder Michael Tien, no less, and Mandaluyong City Mayor Benjamin Abalos.

They both looked trés sleek wearing their G2000 suits, natch!

The collection presented sophisticated styles with sassy cuts in vibrant, solid colors.

Some of our town’s most glamorous personalities were proudly wearing their G2000 pieces.

The G2000 Women line offers a wide variety of designs that can easily be transformed from daytime office wear to a chic night-out look.

The four male models who took center stage looked sharp in their G2000 Men’s latest collection.

“G2000 Men offers highly versatile, coordinated pieces which allow young professionals to achieve a contemporary yet timeless look,” said Tien, who founded the G2000 Group in 1980.
