Gorgeous Ruffa Gutierrez triggered an Intensity 8 when she breezed in the trés chic Salon de Ning at the Peninsula Manila. Occasion was the launch of BodyTite, the latest body-contouring service of Vicki Belo’s awesome salon, dahlings.
The short program was superbly hosted by dashing John James Uy and beautiful Cristalle Belo Henares.
“I was convinced that BodyTite was just the perfect procedure to remedy the loose skin in my body,” said Ruffa. “After having two kids, BodyTite gave my body a curvy, tighter, firmer tone.”
Radiant and glam in a beige Rajo Laurel outfit, Ruffa immediately ignited Salon de Ning, looking every inch the beauty queen that she is. My pal, southern gent Jojie Dingcong, Belo’s mega imaging and marketing consultant, masterfully planned the fun happening – and wow, what a party it was!
Once all the introduction was over we dug into the yummy heavy cocktail treats that included smoked duck breast, green asparagus wrapped in Parma ham, bruschetta with tomatoes and goat cheese, salmon profiteroles, chicken tandoori, vegetable samosas, smoked fish and potato croquette.
Interestingly, a “Ruffatini” drink was especially concocted for the occasion, made of Belvedere citrus, Cointreau, mango, lemon, pink pepper and kaffir lime leaf.
Bea Tantoco, the society set’s favorite chanteuse, belted out great entertainment with her super band, Sauce.
Ruffa came with her fab mom, Annabelle Rama, and talents from her mom’s Royal Era Artists Management, such as Bubbles Paraiso, Ehra Madrigal and Anna Roces.
Partyphiles included Mons Tantoco, Anton Mendoza, Amparito Lhuiller, Cory Quirino, Richie Coronel, Ricco Tantoco, Chris Badiola, Cristine San Diego, Rubby Sy, Maritess Allen, Obet Rubio, Tim Yap, Phoemela Barranda, designer John Herrera, Kitchie Benedicto and Alice Dixson. Also there were Ruffa’s brothers Raymond and Richie Paul Gutierrez.
Flawless owner Rubby Sy was there with the clinic’s endorser, dashing actor Edward Mendez, and Singaporean branding consultant Jacqueline Thng.
The bottom line is that a truly sexier, more beautiful and breathtaking Ruffa glowed all through out the evening. Definitely Belo knows her business!
Cognac party
Its name alone evokes the connoisseur whose discerning taste buds know what cognac is all about, dahlings. Thus, renowned Hennessy XO hosted a fine evening for a trés chosen group of top executives, society icons and wine enthusiasts.

Then it was time to introduce the Hennessy XO Odyssey – Limited Edition by Hennessy Maison’s distinguished brand ambassador, trés charmant Jean Michel Cochet. The cognac is contained in an intricately designed bottle by Arik Levy.

40th birthday bash
Art collector and Manila Jockey Club Patrick Reyno celebrated his 40th birthday with an elegant gathering at his parents’ sprawling South Forbes Park home. The 90 chosen invitees got all dolled up in their black and white outfits, the dress code, to complement the red and white décor.
Chef Margarita Araneta Fores prepared an excellent menu, while live classical and cool jazz music was provided by the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra.
Après dinner, we had the yummy dessert with swinging ’70s and ’80s sounds in the background. Then the celebrator asked his close pals Jonjon Rufino, Lindy Castillo and moi, to say a few words.
Patrick was the perfect host of the evening, dahlings. Helping him entertain guests was his mom, la simpatica Yolanda Reyno.
Patrick was also celebrating his homecoming as well, after two years of study in London, where he obtained a master’s degree in Modern and Contemporary Art from Christie’s, and another master’s degree in Asian Art History and Archeology, from the University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies.
The friends of the celebrator reflected his different interests: Doris Ho of Asia Society; art collector Paulino Que and impeccably dressed Hetty Que; Tatler’s Anton San Diego and Mia Borromeo; TV’s Tim Yap; architects Ramon Antonio and Bong Recio; and socialite Patricia Panlilio and Ricardo Po of Century Tuna, natch!
“I will soon launch my new and latest venture when I open Now Gallery on Pasong Tamo Extension this June,” Patrick told us. So it was no wonder that his giveaway for his guests was a box of note cards featuring the works of artists who will be exhibiting in his gallery.
To dear Patrick, life begins at 40, as the saying goes. May all your dreams come true!
