Sona 2015 Fashion: Nancy Binay opts for ‘boring,’ ‘simple’ gown

After her fashion faux pas last year, Senator Nancy Binay decided to wear a “boring,” “simple” and less colorful blue terno when she attended the opening of the session at the Senate on Monday.

 

“’Di ba parang ang boring? Next time na ‘yung panggulat ulit,” Binay told reporters.

 

(Doesn’t this look boring? Next time, I will wear another shocker!)

 

Last year, the senator was bashed by netizens who said that she looked like a hot air balloon with her outfit —a Barong Tagalog with a bubble skirt made by popular designed Randy Ortiz. She had to apologize to Ortiz for not following the latter’s instruction on how to properly wear her outfit.

To avoid another fashion faux pas, Binay said she just let her designer decide this time what to wear for this year’s opening of the session.

 

“I mean last year, s’ya (Ortiz) talaga ang natamaan sa pagkakamali ko. So, parang this is my way, pambawi ko ba sa kanya,” she further said.
