The camp of Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach on Tuesday said it was “surprised” with the demeanor of Miss Germany Sarah-Lorraine Riek who supposedly did “something bad” to the group.
In his personal account on Facebook, Wurtzbach’s mentor and trainer Jonas Antonio Gaffud recalled his group’s encounter with Riek.
“So surprised with Miss Germany. She did something bad to our group. Pia asked us to go to her suite as Miss Universe. While waiting for the go signal from security, she told us: ‘Are you looking for Miss Philippines? She’s no longer here, she’s on her way to New York!’,” Gaffud said.
He told Riek that her claim was impossible as Wurtzbach just sent them a personal message.
“Then we said, she just messaged us on Whatsapp. She answered, ‘how could she text you? She’s already in the plane. I saw her!’ Duh? How could she be there and say she saw Pia in the plane? Kaloka diba? Hahahaha. After a few minutes, we went to Pia’s wonderful room with buffet LOL,” he continued.
Riek became controversial after saying she was unhappy with Wurtzbach’s win. She said Miss Universe first runner-up Ariadna Gutierrez was “robbed” as no other candidates voted for the Filipina beauty queen.
“I was very happy for Miss Colombia. She really deserved it. But I’m really not happy with the result and so are the other girls, I’m sorry to say that. None of us voted the Philippines. I’m sorry to say that,” Riek told Missosology on Monday (Philippine time).

She later backtracked on her comments and said she “never intended to offend Miss Philippines in any way.”
