Easter Sunday will be here before we know it, and the hunt is on for that special spring look for your table. Veering away from the contrived look of some professional florists, we’re going with the natural look involving rough cuts one can pick in one’s garden or in a garden supplies store. We’ve chosen sunflowers and twigs to star in this show, and here’s how to do it.
You will need:
Plastic plant pot or a clay pot
Flower foam
Twigs, cut 3 inches longer than the height of your pot
Sunflowers, cut to almost double the height of your pot (keep the leftover stems)
Green spider mums, cut to the height of the pot
Orchid plant leaves, moss
Glue gun
Natural vine or twine, or ribbon
Glue the cut twigs onto the body of your pot to cover it, inserting moss in between.
Cut the floral foam to fit into the pot.
Tie the twine around the twig-covered pot as if holding the twigs in place.
Start inserting the orchid plant leaves into the foam and the leftover stems of the sunflowers all around, randomly.
Fill in the spaces with green spider mums. Add the sunflowers.
Tips:
To add color and pop, you can use bright ribbons instead of twine to tie around the pot.
Make the egg hunt even more fun by inserting some of the eggs within this little piece of nature.
