Fashion’s “enfant terrible” strikes again with a new female fragrance celebrating the scandalous. Faithful to the fashion house’s DNA, Jean Paul Gaultier’s “Scandal” is a new female fragrance that channels sexy, debauchery-laced, audacious vibes, topped off with a dose of fun and a signature helping of off-the-wall inspiration. The new fragrance rolls out this July.

As a trailblazer and a fervent opponent of the politically correct, Jean Paul Gaultier is no stranger to scandal, whether making waves with his collections or his fashion shows. The designer has famously sent men down the runway wearing skirts, created a cone-bra corset for Madonna and picked purposely provocative models.

It’s therefore no surprise to see that the latest Jean Paul Gaultier fragrance is a celebration of scandal. Designed for women who are strong and free—studious by day, decadent by night—this new fragrance once again challenges clichés and stands apart, both with its bottle and its aroma.

The scent was created by perfumer Daphné Bugey, in partnership with Fabrice Pellegrin and Christophe Raynaud. The fragrance has gourmand and sensual honey notes, matched with gardenia, orange and patchouli.

Jean Paul Gaultier perfume bottles, in particular “Classique” and “Le Mâle”, are often instantly identifiable with their torso silhouettes. This latest creation also gets a striking design, with a pair of long legs seemingly diving into the bottle. The bottle is packaged in the iconic can, a signature of Jean Paul Gaultier fragrances.
