Starbucks has announced that their Seattle Reserve Roastery will be exclusively serving a brand new beverage starting July 31.
The drink is called the “Pepper Nitro with a Jerky Twist.” It’s made from Bourbon coffee beens grown along Lake Kivu in the Democratic Republic of Congo, South Africa. The area around Lake Kivu is known to be one of the most ideal places for growing Bourbon coffee trees.
Pepper Nitro is served as a cold brew infused with a sweet and savory malted fennel black pepper syrup. It’s then topped with honey cold foam, cracked pink peppercorn sprinkles, and a piece of beef jerky skewered on a bamboo stick.
“Our inspiration was centered around the characteristics of the Congo coffee. The sweet and herbal spice notes naturally paired well with savory ingredients,” said Raegan Powell from the R&D team.
This new specialty drink will only be available at the Seattle Reserve Roastery as part of their collection of limited-time offerings. JB
