Supermodel Adriana Lima turned pensive on social media as she questioned what standards of beauty meant for women.

She wrote in her Instagram post, “I had received a call for the possibility of filming a sexy video of me to be posted and shared in social media.”

“Even though I have done many of this type, something had changed in me, when a friend approached me to share that she was unhappy with her body,” she added.

Lima, 36, said that every day she wakes up to think about how she looks and that it isn’t “physically and mentally healthy.”

“I realized that majority of woman probably wake up every morning trying to fit in a stereotype that society/socialmedia/fashion etc. imposed…. I thought that’s not a way of living,” the model noted.

“I will not take of my clothes anymore for a empty cause,” she declared.

In the picture of text she posted, she wrote, “I am tired of the impositions, we ‘as woman’ can’t be continuing living in a world with such superficial values.”

She said she wanted to “make that change” to challenge how society imposes women “to be, to behave, to look.”

“Let’s f*cking change the world,” she stated.

It’s unclear if Lima will cease her modeling career or gigs like the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show which require her to be in revealing lingerie.

The Brazilian is one of the most well-known faces — and bodies — of the annual fashion show. According to Forbes, she was the top paid Victoria’s Secret Angel in 2016 at $10.5 million (P528 million).

She once told The Telegraph in 2011 that nine days before the show, she only drinks protein shakes and 12 hours prior abstains from water entirely. JB
