Chocolate-covered diamond dessert
Looking for a spectacular way to cap off your meal? Restaurant Beauty & Essex, which has locations in New York, Los Angeles and Las Vegas, has created a $1,000-dessert platter (about P52,000) that comes with a jewelry box filled with glitter-dusted donuts; heart-shaped locket filled with sugar jewels; and a chocolate globe, hiding a .10 carat white diamond. To wash it all down is a bottle of pink, Veuve Clicquot Rosé Champagne. The extravagant dessert trays are available in limited quantities.
Would you like diamonds with that?
Are you particularly pithy and witty on Twitter? Do you have a serious Big Mac lover in your life? McDonald’s has created an outrageous diamond and sapphire-studded ring worth $12,500 (over $650,000) called the Bling Mac. Seven layers of the fast food giant’s iconic sandwich have been bedazzled as white diamonds, orange and green sapphires, and encrusted in 18-carat gold “Bling Mac” that can be won by sending funny and creative vows of love and commitment on Twitter. To enter this year’s contest, fans are invited to tweet to @McDonalds using the hashtag #BlingMacContest. The single-most creative and hilarious tweet will be deemed the winner.

For the ludicrously rich: A $23,145 Valentine’s Day package
This year, the Fairmont Dubai has packed every V-day classic possible into a two-day package that starts with a limo transfer to the hotel and includes a helicopter ride over Dubai; a set of diamond jewelry; and ends with chocolate-dipped strawberries and champagne aboard a private yacht. Here’s what you get for the princely sum of AED 85,000 ($23,145 or (P1.2 million), as reported by Hotelier Middle East: a stay at the hotel’s two-story Imperial Suite, where a private butler awaits with a bouquet of 100 red roses; a diamond jewelry set worth AED 15,000 ($4,084 or P213,000); hair and makeup at the hotel salon and seven-course dinner while being serenaded by a violinist. The next morning, the butler will fire up the suite’s private Jacuzzi, before the couple embarks on a 40-minute flight over Dubai. That’s followed by a 90-minute couple’s massage, an afternoon aboard a private yacht for more bubbly, and a final dinner at the hotel’s steakhouse restaurant. JB
