The Australian Reptile Park took their Komodo dragon Kraken offsite to a local manufacturer for a weigh-in this month, surprising factory employees by walking the huge reptile into their workplace on a leash.
“Weighing the world’s largest lizard species is no easy feat,” representatives of the Australian Reptile Park said. Kraken required an industrial scale for his health check, so the park enlisted the help of the local business.
Kraken was loaded into the park’s van and driven to the factory, where employees “had a very different morning in the office.”
The seven-year-old juvenile dragon weighed in at 35.5 kilograms and 2.22 meters in length.
The Australian Reptile Park will open a new exhibit, Dragon’s Lair, by the end of 2018. The state of the art facility will house Kraken and another Komodo dragon Daenerys. JB
