Rihanna knows no sleep. Together with luxury fashion and beauty powerhouse Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy (LVMH), the singer confirmed Fenty, her latest luxury fashion label which will debut this September.
The announcement comes after months of speculation, including reports of a “Project Loud” between Rihanna and LVMH.
According to Business of Fashion, Fenty will be presenting a ready-to-wear line, shoes, sunglasses, and jewelry.
Upon the announcement, a Fenty Instagram account went live along with a Fenty website, which for now showcases the brand’s logo and a link so you can sign up to their mailing list. It will make sure you’ll be one of the first to get an update on Rihanna’s latest move towards world domination, I mean, on her fashion line.
Fenty is a bold move for LVMH, who controls heritage houses such as Givenchy, Dior, and Loewe. Not since 1987, when LVMH introduced Christian Lacroix, has the conglomerate created its original brand.
Rihanna is also the first woman to pioneer a label for LVMH and the first woman of color at the top of an LVMH label. Because we all know that Rihanna isn’t satisfied with breaking just one record.
This, however, is not the first partnership between Rihanna and LVMH. Her highly-successful Fenty Beauty was created with Kendo, LVMH’s cosmetics and skincare product incubator.
Earlier this month, Fenty Beauty dropped a summer collection that features several products like the Satin Lipstick, Vivid Liquid Eyeliner, Lip Balm and a Lip-Loving Scrubstick.
Yes, Rihanna introduced a new collection for her beauty line in the same month she announced her fashion label. And to think we’re not officially halfway done with May. So stay on your toes as Rihanna might have another trick up her sleeve.
Rihanna has also long ventured into fashion through collaborations with PUMA and Manolo Blahnik. Don’t forget her Savage x Fenty label which is all about inclusive lingerie.
Keep your eyes peeled for any hints over what to expect from Fenty in the coming days leading to the launch.
And also, note that Rihanna might just follow this drop with a new album. Told you, it’s all about that work, work, work.
