While on a rush to buy supplies for their families, most moms fail to read the labels at the back of every product they buy, something which singer-TV host Jolina Magdangal is also guilty of, most of the time.
Magdangal admitted she also fails to check the label of what she buys, as stated on her Instagram post yesterday, Sept. 7, where she is shown in a photo while reading the label of a juice product.
“Narealize ko na kadalasan nakakalimutan natin i-check yung mga products na binibili natin. Most of the time, pinagbibigyan [na lang] natin yung gusto ng kids natin pero di natin napapabuti yung health nila because we forget to read the label,” she said.
(I realized that most of the time we forget to check the products that we buy. Most of the time, we just give in to what our kids want, but we fail to improve their health because we forget to read the label.)
Magdangal believes that this habit must to be broken.
“Ngayon na lahat tayo ay hirap at may struggle (Now that we are all experiencing hardships and struggles), we need to break the habit of being carefree on the nutrition we give our kids,” she said.
“Kaya simula ngayon (So, starting today), I [pledge to double check] by reading the back label of the products, especially juice drinks, that I buy.”
Magdangal reminded mothers that the practice of reading labels can also be applied when buying other grocery items.
The celebrity mom and wife of Rivermaya drummer Mark Escueta has also delved into cultivating plants during the pandemic. JB
