Carla Abellana calls out La Trinidad group allegedly cooking, eating dog meat

Actress and animal rights advocate Carla Abellana expressed her extreme displeasure upon learning about a group in La Trinidad that allegedly cooks dog meat for its staff.

“BREAKING: ANTI CRIME NGO REPORTEDLY COOKS DOG FOR THEIR FIELD CREW,” Abellana stated in her Instagram post yesterday, July 31. “[Animal Kingdom Foundation or AKF] received a message about a group in Betag, La Trinidad that slaughtered a dog to be ‘kakainin habang nagroronda’ (eaten while doing the rounds).”

According to Abellana, based on information from a concerned citizen, the alleged group eating dog meat is called Task Force Kasanag.

“We call on the leadership of Task Force Kasanag to shed light on this crime as it runs counter to their advocacy against criminality and as environmental crusaders,” she appealed. “AKF strongly condemns butchering of dogs so individuals can fill their empty [stomachs].”

Abellana reminded the public that “dogs are not meat” and it is “a crime to slaughter them for their meat.” JB
