Lovi Poe starts shooting for her Idris Elba-produced movie this October

Actress Lovi Poe excitedly announced her participation in an upcoming international movie.

Poe made the announcement by posting a screenshot of a report from Deadline, a United States entertainment publication, which stated “Filipina Star Lovi Poe Joins Alex Pettyfer & Poppy Delevingne In ‘The Chelsea Cowboy.'”

Poe also tagged British actor Idris Elba in her post. Elba will reportedly executive produce.

“Aaaah….can’t wait to start filming The Chelsea Cowboy in October,” Poe said. “The film is a biopic based on the life of actor, gangster and lothario John Bindon. I’ll be playing blues British singer Dana Gillespie.”

“In her biggest English-language movie role to date, Poe will play British blues singer Dana Gillespie who employed Bindon as security and also provided him with access to the high life, most notably the island of Mustique where he met Princess Margaret,” the report stated.

The charismatic Gillespie also was said to have had romantic ties with David Bowie, Bob Dylan, Mick Jagger, Michael Caine, Jimmy Page, Keith Moon and Sean Connery.

Meanwhile, Deadline took note of Poe’s background in music and TV, citing “Bakekang” and “Ang Dalawang Mrs. Real.” Her movie credits such as “Sagrada Familia” and “Thy Womb” were also mentioned. JB
