Paulo Avelino on settling down: ‘I’m always open for marriage’

Actor Paulo Avelino may look like he’s not the marrying type but he actually considers himself to be one.

“You know, I am always open for marriage, if I find the right person or if the right time comes,” Avelino said during the online press conference for “Marry Me, Marry You,” last Thursday, Sept. 2.

In the new TV series, Avelino plays Andrei, a company CEO who falls in love and eventually marries the character of Janine Gutierrez, named Camille. It will premiere on Sept. 11 on the iWantTFC app and iwanttfc.com; and on Sept. 13 on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z and TV5. Viewers outside the Philippines can catch it on The Filipino Channel and IPTV.

Meanwhile, for Avelino, there are things that can make one think twice about marriage.

“You know it is hard to say. Minsan talaga alam mong iyon ang tao na gusto mong pakasalan but sometimes it turns out sa hindi inaasahang pangyayari, hindi nangyayari,” he said. (Sometimes you really know that you want to marry this person, but due to an unavoidable situation, you cannot.)

For the actor, commitment is also something special and requires someone to give of one’s self, adding, “If you commit to something, you should be decided to be there and stick to it through your commitment.”
