Actor Paulo Avelino, also known to be an avid gamer, believes that there should be a balance between playing games and doing chores. He feels that learning how to prioritize is the key to responsible gaming.

“To all the young gamers out there, it is always nice to balance things out. Kumbaga, know your priorities at kapag alam mo siguro ‘yung priorities mo, maba-balance out mo ‘yung oras mo for gaming and other real-life stuff,” Avelino said during the online press conference for LuponWXC, May 11.

(That is, know your priorities, and if you know your priorities, you can balance out your time for gaming and other real-life stuff.)

Avelino is partnering with the said premier esports and streaming company founded by gaming icon Nico “Kuya Nic” Nazario. With that, the actor encourages those with potential in esports to openly join competitions, while noting that the industry of gaming can be even bigger in five to ten years.

The actor recalled that he has always been a gamer since he was a kid.

“Lumaki akong naglalaro ng ‘Counter-Strike.’ Nagrerenta ako ng PC sa Baguio. Ang daming mga gamers doon,” he recalled. (I grew up playing “Counter-Strike.” I rent personal computers in Baguio. There are so many gamers there.)

He also recounted how he got to know Nazario.

“Marami rin akong tinutulungan na local streamers na nasa gaming rin. So marami akong ino-order abroad na wala dito na mga gamit para ma-improve ‘yung quality ng stream nila or mas maging convenient para sa kanila,” he said. (I also help a lot of local streamers who are into gaming. So I order equipment which are not found here but are available abroad, to improve the quality of their stream or to make it more convenient for them.)

Avelino shared that Nazario needed equipment which he owns. Nazario wanted to buy it but Avelino just gave it instead. Avelino joked that he will just ask him for a favor in the future. The actor thought Nazario might have gotten scared because he did not reply for months. They eventually became friends.

When asked about his role at LuponWXC, Avelino said he checks for quality and makes sure that equipment is always in top condition.
