Nevermind the bashers, Jerome Ponce still likes social media for connecting with fans

Actor Jerome Ponce feels that the best way to keep one’s sanity when it comes to dealing with social media is to just ignore the bashers.

“Minsan mas okay na hindi mo na lang pansinin talaga at tanggapin kaysa sa aawayin mo pa. Sabi nga nila, hindi maitatama ang isang mali kung gagawan mo pa ng mali,” Ponce said when he was asked how he reacts to bashing during the Aug. 26 online press conference for season two of the series “Click, Like, Share.”

(Sometimes it better to just ignore and accept it than fight it. As they say, one cannot right a wrong by doing another wrong.)

Ponce plays Vincent, the object of desire of two friends, Jenna (Barbie Imperial) and her gay friend Kris (Lance Reblando) in the episode titled “Found” which streamed on iWantTFC and aired on the Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live and A2Z channel 11.

Ponce is aware of course that being exposed in social media will have him needing to deal with bashings and criticisms. But what he likes about social media is that through it, he gets to interact with his fans.

“Siyempre, bilang nandiyan kami sa work, matutuwa ‘yung mga taong interested sa life namin, sa pinagkakaabalahan namin,” he said.

(Of course, while we are at work, people who are interested in our life and what we are busy with will be happy.)

Ponce feels good when he is able to share details about his life with his fans through social media.

“Ang sarap din kasi sa feeling na magiging proud ka sa life mo, kung sino ang kasama mo, kung ano ‘yung naipundar mo, kung ano ang ginagawa mo,” he added.

(It’s a great feeling to be proud of your life, who you are with, what have you accomplished and what are you doing.) JB
