‘This is your most important small group’: Rica Peralejo on enjoying, teaching one’s kids

For actress and Christian vlogger Rica Peralejo, nothing beats spending precious time with her youngest baby, Manu.

Peralejo believes that as a mom, one should treasure spending quality time during the formative years of one’s baby, as stated in her Instagram page yesterday, Nov. 28, where she shared with fans a series of photos showing her cuddling Manu in the stairs.

“My last baby. I think. I hope. So I am making the most out of it,” she said. “For those who are thinking of the dozen different things people tell you about being absent elsewhere or non-present elsewhere for the reason that you are taking the time to enjoy and teach your children — don’t mind them, you are doing the right thing.”

For Peralejo, there is no value in acquiring “a dozen different titles” if one misses the “most important years” of one’s child.

“For me, the only valid reason for being away from your kids especially in these crucial years is that you need to work. This is a reality. Sometimes we have to make that choice just so we don’t end up starving,” she added. “And I really feel for moms who would rather the other way around but cannot for economic reasons.”

“BUT… if you have the privilege to either work from home or to not work at all, why wouldn’t you embrace the WINDOW of opportunity? Especially when that window closes after a certain period of time?”

Mom and child bonding, Peralejo believes, is also a good opportunity teach one’s child about faith.

“As Christians, too, I wanna encourage you that this is your most important ‘small group,” she stressed. “That actually, if you are a mom and you are teaching your child the ways of God you are actually a leader and actively discipling.” JB
