Actor Diego Loyzaga considers his all-mine-to-give demeanor when it comes to love as his “toxic trait.”
“That’s my toxic trait. I always give too much. Hindi ako nagtitira para sa sarili ko (I don’t leave something for myself). But I’m working on it,” Loyzaga said when asked until where he could give his all in the name of love during the online conference for “How to Love Mr. Heartless” last May 31.
But he’s such a softie when it comes to forgiving.
“Mabilis akong magpatawad kapag nakita ko naman na sincere ang apology ng tao (I easily forgive when I see that the person’s apology is sincere). That’s another toxic trait of mine. It doesn’t really matter what she did to me kapag nakita ko naman na sorry ka talaga, mabilis akong [magpatawad] (when I see that’s she’s really sorry, I easily forgive),” he said.
Loyzaga believes that the key to patching up things with a loved one is through communication.
“You have to be able to talk to that person the right way and if better muna na cool off muna or ‘wag kayo mag-usap (or don’t talk to each other). But if you can talk to me, kuha mo na ako kaagad (you get me already),” he said, noting that he rarely gets angry nowadays.
“Dati mainitin ang ulo ko pero ngayon hindi na ako nagagalit. Kailangan sobrang lala ‘yung nangyari para magalit ako,” he said. (Before, I easily got mad, but now I don’t. Something so grave must happen before I should get angry.)
Directed by Jason Paul Laxamana, “How to Love Mr. Heartless” will stream on Vivamax starting June 17. /ra
