Everything was extra challenging for JC de Vera as he plays Andrew Marcelo, the investigative partner of Lovi Poe’s Iris Castillo del Rosario character in “Flower Of Evil.” For one, he came on board way later than his fellow actors.
“I have to review and study the whole script from day one [until] episode 32,” he said during the online press conference for the series last June 20. “Kailangan ko siyang basahin lahat, kailangan ko siyang aralin nang mabilis kasi I was given little time to prepare. Kailangan pagpasok ko sa set, lahat on point dapat.”
(I needed to read it all, I needed to study it fast because I was given little time to prepare. Once I enter the set, everything has to be on point.)
De Vera admitted that he had to do things fast as the cast members were already working ahead of him.
“Minadali ko lahat ‘yung pag-bond ko sa cast. Minadali ko lahat ‘yung pag-observe ko sa craft ng bawat makakaeksena ko. I have to study each and everyone and kung paano ang process ng directors namin, how they will attack each and every scene,” he said.
(I hurriedly did my bonding with the cast. I hurriedly observed the craft of those I am doing a scene with. I have to study each and everyone, and the process of our directors, how they will attack each and every scene.)
Even his looks and how he moved had to be adjusted for the role, all of which he believes will benefit his performance.
“Flower of Evil” started showing on Viu last June 23 and 24, and on the Kapamilya Channel and A2Z last June 25 and 26. JB
