Art in the time of the pandemic is an escapist dream. Recently, museums and heritage sites have started reopening to the public to cater to our need for culture and arts. The Manila art scene, for the same reason, has adjusted to make art accessible online and at an affordable price, too, for interested budding collectors.
For the first time last year, Art in the Park, which has attracted patrons at the Jaime Velasquez Park in Makati for the last 14 years, was held online. The annual outdoor fair is a must-go event for collectors of local art on a budget. A year later, Art in the Park is continuing online and with a slight change in date from its usual March opening.
Right in time for its 15th anniversary, Art in the Park announced a special edition happening this July 25 to August 1. It has over 60 participating galleries, 4 special exhibits, and 10,000 artworks all under P70,000.
The fair will be hosted on Art in the Park’s website.
Since 2006, the annual event organized by Philippine Art Events, Inc. has been for the benefit of the Museum Foundation of the Philippines.
