ManilArt fair will kick off its sixth installment with the art caravan, “Salpung,”  Aug. 29-31, at  Mariyah Gallery in Dumaguete, Negros Oriental. Theme of this year’s art caravan is “Crossing Borders, Bridging Cultures.”

“Salpung” is a Visayan word that means “to go over” or “cross over.” Artistry in cross-cultural interaction is explored by “Salpung” as it welcomes Egyptian artist Ibrahim Ghazala, who is the editor of Alkhaya Art Magazine, director of Luxor International Art Studios and general commissar of Luxor International Symposium for Painting.
