Do-it-yourself ice cream treats | Lifestyle.INQ

OCTOBER 27, 2022

Like many other ice cream fans, we mourned as Magnum Manila closed its doors last Sunday. Where will we go for inventive ice cream creations now?

What about your own home?

Super asked chef Miko Aspiras, the award-winning genius behind the memorable plated desserts of Magnum Manila, to create recipes that will help our readers recreate the Magnum experience at home.

“The Magnum pleasure doesn’t stop at the store. You can be a pleasure-maker even in your own home,” said Miko.

And if you’re no wiz in the kitchen, don’t worry, he made sure these three recipes require zero cooking skills.

  5. Put the toasted pieces of bread on a plate.

MAGNUM AFFOGATO

“Enjoy this after lunch or for your afternoon coffee break,” said Miko.

What you need:

Coffee (any kind, even 3-in-1 coffee will work)
Vanilla Magnum

The steps:

  1. Remove the chocolate coating to make a naked Magnum.
  2. Place the naked Magnum inside a cup.
  3. You can add some of the chocolate coating or you can eat all of it, it’s up to you.
  4. Pour the hot coffee over the naked Magnum and use the Magnum to stir your coffee.
  5. Enjoy.

Tip: You can use a Magnum Mini, too.

  5. Let the cookies soak in the milk.
  6. Eat with a spoon.

Tip: Try Oreos, too. They’re Miko’s favorite.
